War and armed conflict cover — limited on-trip protection for Australian travellers
War & Armed Conflict Disruption Cover

War & Armed Conflict Cover for Australian Travellers

War and armed conflict are not normally covered by travel insurance. Go Insurance Australian travel insurance includes limited medical-related cover automatically if you are unexpectedly affected while already overseas, with an optional disruption upgrade — added during the quote process at goinsurance.com.au — for extra travel and accommodation costs if your trip is disrupted.

Cover is subject to the PDS, including its limits, conditions and exclusions. The optional disruption cover must be selected at time of purchase and shown on your Certificate of Insurance.

How It Works

How to Add Optional Disruption Cover

The automatic cover is built in. Adding the optional disruption upgrade takes a few steps during the quote process.

1

Get a Quote

Start your quote at goinsurance.com.au and enter your travel details — destination, dates and traveller information.

2

Select Disruption Cover

During the quote process, select the optional disruption cover and pay the additional premium. You cannot add it after your trip has started.

3

4

Keep Your Records

If your trip is disrupted, keep receipts for extra travel and accommodation costs and pursue any refunds available — you’ll need both if you claim.

Real-World Example

How This Cover Might Respond

You are already overseas when a new and unexpected outbreak of conflict affects a place you are visiting or travelling through. Flights are disrupted and you need to arrange alternative transport and accommodation.

The automatically included cover may respond to eligible medical or serious outcomes if you are directly affected. If you selected the optional disruption cover, reasonable additional travel and accommodation costs may also be covered, subject to the policy terms, limits, and any available refunds or credits.

Important Reminder

This Is Limited Cover Only

It does not provide broad or open-ended war cover.

It is designed to offer limited support for certain eligible medical events, plus optional disruption cover for additional travel and accommodation costs during your trip if you have selected it.

It helps set clear expectations about what may be covered during your trip — and what is not included. For full details, read the PDS before you buy.

It must be selected during the quote process and shown on your Certificate of Insurance.
